10. Dear batch of 2021
This one is for
you guys, the current batch of Final Year B. Pharmacy students who are
preparing for GPAT 2021 and my target audience. I'm assuming that most of you
are people from in and around Pune and were aiming to join APEX to prepare for
your exam.
You must have
heard stories from your seniors too about Mohan Sir, APEX and their yearlong
studying sessions that ultimately led them up to the exam and achieving what
they did!
While my batch
has been crying about missing out on our last few days, last practical, last
exam, farewell and graduation, I understand that the situation isn’t too
exciting for you guys either. You still have the whole Final Year ahead of you
and most of that is going to be spent at home via online lectures.
You have missed
out on the APEX classes that happen every weekend for a few months now but I have
heard that Sir did start online lectures since a few weeks now and that is
great news. Most of the colleges have also started online lectures so you can
keep yourself engaged, occupied and get your head out of this lockdown and into
this semblance of a “new normal” that we have all gotten into and set a
timetable for yourself.
While I cannot
give you any hope for the past 3 months that you have lost, I can ask you to be
hopeful for the future. It is still the month of June right now and you have
about 7 months until GPAT 2021 arrives (Let’s hope it works in your favor and
GPAT exam is also delayed to a much later date for this year).
I can
understand that you all are in a very bad state of mind right now and it will
be difficult for you guys to get back up on your feet and reach the pace that my
batch had. The lockdown was a tough time for all of us and it has affected
everyone in a different way. The coronavirus is here to stay for a while and
won’t completely go away until we find a definite cure or a vaccine. Society is
learning to accept and adapt to this “new normal” now and you must too!
Have faith in
yourself that you will be able to do this despite the negative things happening
around you. Believe in yourself, set a goal and work really hard to strive for
something great!
In terms of
GPAT preparations your batch will have a tough time compared to the opportunities
and the advantages we had. But remember that you are not alone and everyone in
your batch all across India is going through the exact same thing this year!
The best part about GPAT is that it is a relative thing and if the paper is difficult,
then it is difficult for everyone and
the score of the top rankers along with the cut off scores will come down.
Make the best of the time that you have at your hand right now. Always keep this one thought in your head with you when you seek motivation –
While you think of wasting your time and not studying, there is someone, somewhere in India who is sitting away at their study table and working really hard to get a good score and outperform you!
Hardships are
here and they will not be going away from anytime soon. GPAT 2021 will happen
exactly at the time it is supposed to and the world is not going to pause for
you, it moves on.
Ask yourself this one question everyday –
Whatever I did today, how did this contribute towards my goal and will I be happy about the way I spent my day when I see my result for the GPAT exam?
This is my last
post for this blog.
It took me over a month to create this blog. I started out with
making this blog because I always wanted to speak to my juniors at APEX and
SKNCOP about my story and the things that helped me in my journey. The pandemic
hit and because of that I could not do this so I decided to make a blog and
share the link with everyone!
To my juniors
at SKNCOP - you guys are amazing and have very big shoes to fill in. I set a
new benchmark for all us there by securing AIR 52 and I expect you guys to take
this tradition ahead, beat my rank and take it even further! If you need my help,
then I will always be there to guide you in whatever doubts you have and if you
want to reach out to me you can ask for my phone number from our teachers or your batch mates
who knew me up close.
Signing
off,
Taher Vasowala
